Iron Cyanide Removal from Wastewater via Precipitation
|
Capabilities
- Can reduce total cyanide levels to approximately less than 1 mg/l
- Converts iron cyanide to land fillable sludge
Description of process
- Wastewater from coke gas contains cyanide after ammonia stripping
- Reducing agent must be added to wastewater stream if complexed iron is ferric
- Ferrous/ferric chloride is added to water to form a ferri-ferrocyanide insoluble particulate
- Additional coagulating metals are added to improve settling of particulate
- Sedimentation followed by sand filtration results in cyanide reduced wastewater
- Anion ion exchange resin removal of cyanide available for "clean streams"
